Toilets…to repair or to replace?

Toilets…to repair or to replace?

I recently found myself faced with this question. I chose to replace my old toilet based on its lack of quality and efficiency. According to the current code in Georgia, a toilet must flush with 1.28 gallons or less. It can be difficult to find a satisfactory model within these new parameters. Not all toilets are created equal.

I chose to install a premium quality toilet, and I was curious to discover what set this model apart from its lower priced companions. During installation I realized that this toilet is crafted from much higher grade porcelain, thicker and more solid than most I have worked with. From the point of view of the user, the toilet sits higher; this is more comfortable and meets American Disability Act standards. The flush is most efficient, a quality we all appreciate in the bathroom.
The model I choose is a Porcher Luteza LXP. Not only does this toilet have a higher performance rating than most fixtures on the market, it is one of the most aesthetically pleasing additions to any bathroom that I have seen. If you are considering replacing your toilet, I recommend going with the highest quality fixture that your budget will allow. I found that the premium features are worth the additional cost. This experiment has proven to me that you can still find an efficient toilet within the new code.
