Places Your Forgetting to Clean

Places Your Forgetting to Clean

Spring has sprung, and you know what that means: spring cleaning. While we're sure you’ll add vacuuming, mopping, and dusting to your to-do list, you may be forgetting about a few places around your home that should be cleaned too. Rather than let dust bunnies and allergens remain in your home, give a little extra attention to these places.

Walls and Baseboards

You may not think so, because you can't always visually tell, but your walls and baseboards can be covered in dust and other particles. Use a damp cloth to wipe down all of the walls and baseboards in your home, especially those near large furniture pieces that could transfer dust to the walls.

Cabinet Tops

When was the last time you climbed up on your counter and took a good look at the tops of your cabinets? If you're like most people, the answer is probably “never.” But dust, allergens, and other dirt can settle at the top of your cabinets and spread to the rest of your home. Use a microfiber cloth to trap all of that mess.

Welcome Mats

While you may only use your welcome mats for decoration, they do serve an important purpose of capturing dirt, pollen, and other particles before they enter your home. If you don’t clean them once in a while, all that dirt can end up in your home anyway. Brush out or beat your welcome mats outside to rid them of all the gunk stuck inside them.

HVAC Filters

This one isn’t so much a cleaning task as it is a replacement, but it’s still very important! At least every 45 days, swap out your old filter for a new, clean one. This not only ensures your AC isn’t pumping dirty particles into your air, but it also keeps your unit in good shape.
